Greenspire
Apartment Community
M R Window Solutions is proud to have played a key role in one of Wisconsin's most significant sustainable housing achievements. As the window installation contractor for the Greenspire Apartments renovation in Stoughton, WI, our team installed Alpen Zenith Series fiberglass windows throughout all 92 units of this 78,000-square-foot multifamily community — helping the property earn its distinction as Wisconsin's first LIHTC property to achieve net zero status.
The Alpen Zenith windows were central to meeting the project's demanding energy performance goals. Certified to R-10 and rated ENERGY STAR® Most Efficient, the Zenith Series features long-strand pultruded fiberglass frames, super-insulating closed-cell foam fill, triple-pane glazing, and air infiltration rates as low as 0.01 CFM per square foot. These specs don't just perform — they qualify. Projects utilizing Zenith windows may be eligible for the 25C Energy Efficient Home Improvement Tax Credit, which covers up to 30% of qualifying window costs, and for multifamily and commercial applications, the 179D Energy Efficient Commercial Buildings Deduction can provide significant per-square-foot tax relief when energy benchmarks are met. Keeping energy loads low enough to be fully offset by the building's solar system, Greenspire hit those benchmarks with room to spare. The result is a net zero affordable housing community where residents enjoy lower utility costs, improved indoor comfort, and a healthier living environment. At M R Window Solutions, we're committed to bringing industry-leading window technology — and the financial advantages that come with it — to projects that matter. Greenspire is a testament to what's possible when the right products meet the right team.
