Apartment Community
McKinley Middle School is an existing school-building structure located in central Milwaukee that is listed on the state and federal registries for historic buildings. Consisting of four buildings erected in 1884, 1888, 1898 and 1958 respectively, the complex consists of an area of 81,000 square feet. The development consists of a massive "make-over" of the buildings which will be repurposed into a 38-unit overall apartment building for Milwaukee residents. M R Window Solution was contracted to oversee, supply and install the replacement of 351 windows with Quaker's H500 historic series aluminum windows. In addition, MRWS restored 48 existing historic windows to their original luster. In addition, MRWS is contracted for the replacement and/or restoration to 8 historic exterior door openings. To this end, MRWS worked extensively with the GC and architect to assist in the approval process overseen by the Wisconsin's State Historic Preservation office in Madison as well as the National Parks Service department in Washington D.C., the administrative bodies that govern the Historic Tax Credit program.
